Friends of the Environment Community Farm

This grower has a photo album.

Friends of the Environment was created to provide environmental and outdoor appreciation programs such as education about environmental issues, bird watching of the diverse Delta bird population, canoeing in the lake adjoining FOTE’s property, and gardening in its community garden. Our “Alligator Aggies” community garden was created in 2006 to address the lack of nutritional knowledge and the lack of access to local, affordable fresh fruits and vegetables.

Their goal is to encourage the youth of Alligator to learn more about the benefits of growing their own fruits and vegetables. In the process, they hope these youth will learn healthy eating habits and see how growing their own produce can have a positive impact on the environment as well as an economic benefit for them.

Our Crops
Cantaloupe, Cucumbers, Herbs (Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage) Okra, Plums, Squash, Watermelons
