CFM - Week 9 Update

This post expired on August 12, 2010.

Hello all,

Our online ordering for this week is up and running and waiting for you to place your orders: http://www.clarksdale.locallygrown.net/. While there isn’t a lot available online this week, there should be more produce and prepared goods available at the market on Saturday. Several growers are between crops. In addition to the items available for pre-sale on the website, we hope to have the following items available on market day: tomatoes, cantaloupes, squash, cucumbers, blueberries, pickled veggies, preserves and jellies, and various baked goods and breads, as well as additional okra and field peas.

Here is a list of produce available for pre-order online this week: cucumbers, okra, field peas, butterbeans, dill pickles, and artisanal breads. Online orders are accepted through Thursday night. If you order online, please pick up your order on Saturday at the CFM table at the Market, but please arrive no later than 11:00.

In other news, the Mississippi Department of Agriculture is holding a series of workshops around the state to help Mississippi fruit and vegetable producers learn more about cool season production and growing season extension through the use of high tunnels. For more information, check out the flyer here: http://www.mdac.state.ms.us/n_library/departments/farm_mkt/pdf/Cool%20Season%20Production%20Registration%20Form.pdf

We hope to see you this Saturday at the Farmers Market in the green space on the 200 block of Delta Avenue! The Market is open from 8:00 am until noon (or whenever we sell out).

Thank you again for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you Saturday.
