CFM Week 14 Update

This post expired on September 17, 2010.

Hello all,

Our online ordering for this week is up and running and waiting for you to place your orders: http://www.clarksdale.locallygrown.net/.

Much of the summer harvest has come and gone, so be sure and savor what’s left as well as snapping up the first crops of fall vegetables: Sweet potatoes, field peas, turnip and mustard greens, okra, yellow squash, dill pickles, pickled okra, salsa.

CFM is partnering with Region One Mental Health Center and the Opportunity Shop *(located on Suflower Avenue downtown) to create *CFM “Green” shopping bags. *Bring your old and worn garments to us at the market *as a donation to the Opportunity Shop and Region One’s clients will take the items not suitable for resale and craft CFM logo shopping bags, which will then be sold through the market. Thank you to Patty Johnson who is spearheading this communtiy partnership!

The *Clarksdale Garden Club is holding their annual bulb sale *fundraising drive and will be at the market for thenext four weeks. The bulb brochure and order form are on the website, but if you want the brochure and order form emailed to you (there are 4 JPEG files), just reply to this email and we will send it you individually. Or, just come to the market and pick up a brochure and order form in person.

This week, online orders are accepted through Friday morning. If you order online, please pick up your order on Saturday at the CFM table at the Market, but please arrive no later than 11:00.

Thanks to all of you for your continuing support! We enjoy seeing you on Saturdays and appreciate the strong sense of community here.

We hope to see you this Saturday at the Farmers Market in the green space on the 200 block of Delta Avenue! The Market is open from 8:00 am until noon (or whenever we sell out).
